Vacation Bible School
Vacation Bible School is a week-long program for children that is educational and worshipful with a focus on mission.
Children age 4.5 to 4th grade travel in groups of no more than 15 children with an adult shepherd with teen and tween helpers. Our ratio of adults to campers is 1:3.
Using the Workshop Rotation Model, children move to stations throughout the morning, including worship, storytelling, crafts, music, games, discovery, and snacks. Whether they are dressing up in costume, singing songs, or learning in the mission lab, there is always a Biblical theme for the day.
Leading Vacation Bible School are people who love the Lord and who love children. Fifty volunteers give their time and talent to help share the Good News with our littlest disciples and bring Bible stories to life. Hugs, love, and laughter abound. Someone has described VBS Week as “the best week on the planet!”
As our mission focus, for the past few years donations have been collected for Ivin’s House, a community service organization which works as a local presence to reduce family suffering, and helps individuals find the services they need. VBS campers bring new back packs and school supplies so that children in need in the Morrisville community might have supplies on the first day of school.
Community children are welcome at the MPC Vacation Bible School. On the Sunday morning following Vacation Bible School, all children – whether members of the church or visitors – help lead the congregation in worship by singing their VBS songs.
Please see the April and May publications of the MPC Currents newsletter or call the church office for a registration form.
Full and partial scholarships are available – please contact our Director of Christian Education, Katy Yates Brungraber by email or calling the church office at (215)–295–4191.
