Events Explained
MPC Olympics — Calling all Kindergarten — 5th graders to join us at the MPC Olympics Party. Why? Because it’s time for some fun with your church friends. This takes place the last Sunday of January 4:00 – 5:30 pm in room 220. Come enjoy games, crafts and light refreshments. Get excited about the 2010 Winter Olympics. Bring a friend, or maybe make some new ones. Tell your mom or dad that they can play, too; everyone is on the team at our Olympics! This event is sponsored by the Children and Family Council. For more information or to sign up, please download the MPC Olympics brochure.
February Food Collection – Lots of folks give at Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Easter, but there is considerable need for food in the cold month of February. Please give generously – boxes are marked in the Education Wing. All contributions will be donated to the Food Center.
Bowling and Family Game Night – Twelve lanes are reserved for MPC members. Whether or not you have children, you’re part of the MPC family, and you’re invited to come to the lanes four blocks from the church. Gutter ball specialist? We’ll take you on our team. A great intergenerational gathering. Come back to the church for pizza and play a favorite board game.
Pentecost Party – On Pentecost Sunday, which also is Confirmation Sunday here at MPC, we invite everyone to celebrate the birth of the church with cake, punch, and balloons on the parking lot lawn. Come greet our newest members of the church, and be sure to wear red!
Vacation Bible School – Children ages 4.5 to 4th grade come to learn the story of God and God’s people in a high-energy week with 50 volunteers. Rotating from storytelling to games, crafts to music, and snacks to worship, children come to know God’s love. We hope that lots of children from the community will join us, and come back on VBS Sunday following a week of camp.
