Once you become a member, the Congregational Ministry Council under the leadership of Elder J’Ann Ellis, identifies a sponsor for you. Your sponsor is there to help answer any questions you might have, to introduce you to other members of the MPC congregation, and to make sure that you feel comfortable in your new church home. It is quite common during this process, that in your sponsor you will find a friend for the rest of the time you spend here at MPC.

If you have children, your sponsor can, for example, connect you with events sponsored by the Children and Family Council. If you have teenagers, your sponsor can introduce you to other families with teens, and see that you have information from the Youth and Young Adult Council about youth groups and mission trips. If you are single, or a couple, your sponsor can guide you to the Adult Ministry Council events.

Everyone is encouraged to come to worship and education, all-church events, and the annual meeting of the congregation, which is held in March. Beyond that, how much you get involved is between you and God – but we hope that you will embrace your role as an active new member and share your time and talent, as well as contribute to the financial needs of the church.

As you will hear Pastor Rosenau say, “The MPC congregation is now a different congregation because you are in it – God has brought you here, and your gifts will help us define our vision and our ministry.” Week after week, you will hear pulpit announcements and see advertisements on posters, on the website, and in our church newsletter. If something sparks your interest, please follow up with the contact person listed, or call the church office for more information. Everyone is always welcomed to attend the event of their choice.

We welcome you into our membership and look forward to doing the work of Christ together.

May the Peace of Christ be with you.
