The Daily Lectionary gives you the Bible readings for each day of the year. This is based on a two-year cycle. After two-years, one would have read the entire Bible, New and Old Testaments, the Gospels through twice, and have cycled through the Book of Psalms every 4 weeks. Click on the icon to your left to go to the Daily Lectionary website. If you want, the readings can be emailed to you every day.

Each year the PC(USA) publishes a Mission Yearbook for Prayer and Study. This day-by-day devotional shows pictures and images of people world-wide who are being helped by a PC(USA) mission ministry of some type. Along with the images, there is a description of the country and the people, as well as devotional prayers for those people. Click on the icon, take a look, and offer a prayer for others in our world.

The PC(USA) believes in and supports the disciplines of personal and corporate spiritual formation. When you click on the icon, you will be brought to the PC(USA) Spiritual Formation page that has wonderful resources to help folks reflect more deeply on their own journey of faith. Literally right outside of our door is the Ivins Outreach Center. The Ivins Center is a non–profit foundation which helps disadvantaged children and their families and assists the elderly and frail. Assistance ranges from coordinating and driving folks to medical visits and the supermarket to helping people apply for Food Stamps, Child Health Insurance Plan (CHIP) including coverage for parents, Child Care Subsidy, Medicaid, Pharmaceutical Coverage for the Elderly, Low Income Home Energy Assistance (LIHEAP) and Voter Registration. The Kirkwood Camp and Retreat Center is located near Stroudsburg in the Pocono Mountains of Pennsylvania. It is run by the PC(USA). Its mission is to strengthen an individual’s faith in Jesus Christ in a context of nature and a caring Christian community. This is a camp for youth and adults alike. Click on the icon and imagine what surprises God might have in store for you on the beautiful grounds of Kirkwood Camp.

MPC is a part of the Presbytery of Philadelphia. Our pastors and session representatives meet on a monthly basis with all of the other pastors in the Philadelphia Presbytery and sit on a variety of committees, very similar to what our elders do here at MPC. Just as we are a part of the Presbytery, MPC is within the Synod of the Trinity. Within the political structure of the PC(USA), we the congregation of MPC have elected elders that help to govern our church. We send elders, along with our pastors, to the monthly Presbytery meetings. Likewise, on a periodic basis, our elder representatives and pastors go to Synod gatherings. And every two-years, the PC(USA) has a General Assembly comprised of representatives from each church, Presbytery, and Synod.
