Vacation Bible School
Vacation Bible School (VBS) is a week-long evening program for children – the program is educational and worshipful with a focus on mission.
Children ages 4.5 to 4th grade travel in small groups with an adult shepherd and teen and tween helpers. Our ratio of adults to campers is 1:3. Children move from worship to storytelling, crafts, music, and games stations. Whether they dress up in costume, sing songs, or learn in the mission lab, there is always a Biblical theme for the day.
Leading VBS are folks who love the Lord and who love children. Fifty volunteers give their time and talent to help share the Good News with our littlest disciples and bring Bible stories to life. Hugs, love, and laughter abound. Someone has described VBS Week as “the best week on the planet!”
As our mission focus, we collect donations for Ivins House, a community service organization which works as a local presence to reduce family poverty and hunger, and connects individuals with the services they need. VBS campers bring new back packs and school supplies so that children in need in the Morrisville community might have supplies on the first day of school.
Community children are welcome at the MPC VBS. On the Sunday morning following VBS, all children – members of the church and visitors – help lead the congregation in worship by singing their VBS songs.
Call the church office for a registration form or pick one up in the Communication Center. Full and partial scholarships are available – please contact our Director of Christian Education, Katy Yates Brungraber by email or calling the church office at (215)–295–4191.
