6th Annual Vendor Fair
Hosted By
Presbyterian Women of MPC
When you find something that works, they say you should repeat it. That’s exactly what a group of dedicated women from the Morrisville Presbyterian Church on 771 North Pennsylvania Avenue in Morrisville will be doing on Saturday, October 22 from 9:00 – 3:00. The group is hosting their 6th annual fundraising fair where local crafters and vendors will be selling their handcrafted treasures and quality products with the proceeds being donated to benefit a number of local charities.
This year’s fair will be expanded due in large part to its four successful previous endeavors. The bake sale, one of the favorites from previous years, returns and will be boasting contributions from some of the best bakers in the church’s congregation with temptations of cakes, pies, cookies and candy. The fair is outgrowing its indoor space and will offer crafters and vendors the opportunity to set up outside the entrance to the stately church building. The church’s parking lot, which can be accessed from either Pennsylvania Avenue or Trenton Avenue, offers plenty of free parking.
The fair’s coordinator and chair of Presbyterian Women’s Fundraising, Kathy Pruner, says shoppers will find a wide variety of products from the event’s crafters and vendors. Some shoppers’ favorites are returning including Touch of Class Jewelry, Twigs’ handmade seasonal decorations, and Fun Matters, a Yardley Main Street merchant who will offer gourmet dips, marinades and other delicacies.
Other participating vendors and crafters will showcase hand crafted jewelry, candles, cards, clay figurines, table linens, Avon products, Discovery Toys, nutcrackers, handmade candy and fudge, caricature drawings, and therapeutic chair massages to ease the tired muscles of shoppers. “There will be something for everyone and it’s a great place to get started on your holiday shopping,” says Pruner. “We work hard to select a nice variety of quality handmade and manufactured products and we are always careful to bring back the crowd favorites each year. This year, the hours of the fair have been extended one hour to 3:00 PM to give families more time to attend after finishing their Saturday activities.” Fair shoppers can also try their luck with a raffle of products from the fair’s crafters and vendors, as well as from a few area merchants.
Operating in a newly remodeled kitchen and coordinating food sales will be members of Sarah Circle, one of the women’s groups within the church. An assortment of breakfast and lunch items will be available for shoppers to fuel their shopping excursion. Shoppers will be able to purchase breakfast and lunch items again this year to fuel their shopping excursion.
Admission to the fair is free and all proceeds from the event will aid the Presbyterian Women in their financial support of many worth while organizations and programs. Some of these include:
- A Woman’s Place (lending aid and shelter to abused women and their children)
- Career Closet (providing business attire to low-income women who require assistance as they enter the workforce)
- The Food Center at MPC (Morrisville Presbyterian Church) which provides food to more than 400 low-income households each month
- Morrisville Visiting Nurse Association
- Head Start Program
- Red Cross homeless shelter
